Apostille
An Apostille is a certification granted under the Hague Convention of 1961, designed to authenticate documents for international use. Its primary purpose is to verify the authenticity of a document. In essence, an Apostille is a certificate attached to the original document, ensuring its acceptance abroad. Any document issued in the United States must be apostilled or legalized if it is to be used in a foreign country. Among the most commonly required documents for Apostille are marriage certificates, which are often essential for various legal matters overseas. Other documents that may require an Apostille include birth certificates, divorce decrees, powers of attorney, official court or criminal records, and college diplomas.
Dissolution of Marriages
We offer document preparation services for divorce petitions and summary dissolutions. Our team will assist in completing the required forms and filing them with the Los Angeles Superior Court. Please note that we can only provide assistance with uncontested divorces, where both parties are in agreement, generally cooperative, and simply wish to legally dissolve their marriage.
In California,
there is a mandatory 6-month waiting period
before a divorce can become final.
Couples with minor children, custody disputes, significant assets, spousal support concerns, or other complex matters are strongly advised to consult with a family law attorney.
Low-Income Applicants: We assist qualifying individuals in completing an Application for Waiver of Court Fees and Costs. If approved, this application may reduce your filing fees and court-related expenses by approximately $500. To be eligible for a Fee Waiver, applicants must submit the necessary documentation proving their current income.
Name Change
At Instant Marriage LA, we make the process of filing for a name change simple and affordable. Whether you're an adult, a minor, or a family looking to change a name, we’ll help guide you through the process at a fraction of the cost of hiring an attorney.
There are many reasons someone might want to change their name. Besides common reasons like marriage, divorce, or adoption, you can also file for a name change if you simply don’t like your current name. Maybe it’s hard to pronounce, frequently misspelled, or just no longer feels like "you." If you’ve recently divorced and didn’t request a name change in your divorce judgment, you’ll need to file for it separately.
Whatever the reason, everyone has the right to ask the court to legally change their name. We're here to help make it easy!
We are a document preparation agency, not a law firm or legal practice. Our role is to assist clients by preparing the necessary documents based on their specific requirements, in compliance with the standards set by government agencies and courts.
Please note, we do not provide legal advice or offer legal representation. If you require legal counsel, we strongly recommend consulting with a licensed attorney who specializes in immigration or family law.
